Bad Day

I woke up to Gordon crying Saturday. He said, "I'm having a really bad day!" Seth jumped out of bed to find out what was wrong. Gordon said, "My stinky won't come out." Then he burst into tears. Poor little guy. He was constipated and couldn't understand why he couldn't go to the bathroom.

Hornets

We have a lot of hornets in our yard. I think that because it has been empty for a year, the hornets just found a safe place to live, on our house. We were talking about the different animals we have seen in our yard; ants, a snake, grasshoppers and hornets. Jared started talking about his friend, Lewis and how he would be so envious because he loves to catch animals.

Gordon said, "How do you catch hornets anyway?"

I said, "I don't know...throw a hot dog out?"

Gordon thought I meant to throw a hot dog at the hornet. He started laughing so loud and said, "Throw a hot dog at it? How about throw a pizza at it?"

Bathrooms

Mia had her first experience using a public restroom that had a lock that didn't work. Mia was really upset about it. When she came out she said, "If I was in charge of the bathroom, I would spend most of the money on making sure the door locked and I wouldn't lock the toilet paper. Who would want to steal toilet paper anyway? I don't know why they would have a bathroom with a door that doesn't lock!"

Sometimes it is hard to remember she is only 8.

Dogs

Ellis was reading me a story about a dog yesterday. I said something about the dog and called it a her. Ellis said, "You can know if a dog is a boy or a girl by how it sounds when it barks."

On the inside

The other day we were watching "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules". In the movie Greg is watching a scary show about a foot. As an adult it is easy to see that it was pretty far out. To a six year old boy, however, it was pretty scary. I looked at Gordon and his eyes were wide open and I thought he was going to cry. I told him that it was just pretend.

Gordon said, "I know. I wasn't scared." He put his hand on his heart and said, "Just the inside of me was scared."

Aaah!

Today I was following Gordon into the condo. He ran ahead of me and then turned around to come back. I was closer than he expected and he jumped in the air and screamed.

He said, "You scared me!"

I replied, "I scared you and made you run in the air?"

Gordon said, "Yeah. And you made me girl scream."

This morning Mia said, "I wish that Kamas was only a few minutes away and that Idaho was in the United Stated."
