What I Love

We had a special Valentines Day dinner last night. We ate by candle light and listened to some of our favorite love songs. We even had dessert!

As the kids were finishing their meal and before the dessert, we went around in a circle, saying what we loved about each other. It was such a sweet moment.

My favorite was this:

Ellis, "What I love about me is that I am small and cute!"

Mercy!

The other day I was playing Uno with Mia, Gordon and Ellis. Mia was nearly out of cards and I suspect she saw that Ellis drew a Draw Two card. She said, "Have mercy on me!"

The Love

We were talking in the car about what the kids would like for Christmas. Gordon said, "Mom. What if I don't have my family for Christmas? That is all that I want for Christmas." I told him that was a great thing to want and Gordon said, "Because Christmas. It's about the love."

Palms

Jared has been struggling with a lot of things lately. Seth was gone to choir practice and I was putting the kids to bed. Jared and I were talking about his various difficulties and ways we can make them better. As I was getting ready to leave, Jared said, "Mommy. Do you think Daddy could give me a blessing? The kind when he puts his palms on my head?"

Fasting

Yesterday Gordon asked me if he could fast. I told him that it would be fine. He has been trying to stop wetting the bed. (He wets the bed every single night.) He fasted for help with it and we have remembered him our prayers to help him out.

This morning he got up and told me, "I didn't even wet the bed last night! I just knew fasting would work!"

Drugs

The other day Gordon was using the computer and he said, "Hey Mom. Have you ever learned about drugs at school?" I said,"Yes." Gordon said, "Don't give me a drug."

Flying

Gordon had his first experience on an airplane yesterday. When we took off, Gordon said, "This feels really good." A few minutes later, Gordon exclaimed, "This is how birds feel and I can feel it!"
